The Cloud That Wanted to Hug the Earth
☁️ The Cloud That Wanted to Hug the Earth 🌸
In a vast blue sky, a soft white cloud named Ennas (which means “Hug”) was born. Unlike other clouds who loved thunderstorms, Ennas dreamed of touching the earth and hugging every living thing. But the elder clouds warned her: “Our only purpose is rain—don’t break the rules!”
The Golden Bird’s Gift
One morning, Ennas escaped her cloud flock and drifted downward. There, she met a golden sunbird named Shomos, who asked:
“Where are you going, little one?”
Ennas replied: “I want to hug a tree, a flower, a child… everything!”
Shomos gave her three golden feathers from his wings:
“These will slow your evaporation for one day. Find a kind heart to return you to the sky before sunset!”
The Hugging Journey
- 🌳 She hugged a thirsty oak tree, turning its wilted leaves vibrant green.
- 🌼 She wrapped herself around a lonely yellow flower, transforming it into a rare blue blossom.
- 👧 She brushed the cheeks of a lonely boy, making him feel a mother’s warmth.
But time was running out! As Ennas shrank, the golden feathers fell. She wept, racing to the mountain of the Wind Giant.
The Wind Giant’s Mercy
The giant roared: “You’re foolish! Clouds don’t hug the earth!”
Ennas cried: “If we don’t love, what’s the point of existing?”
Moved by her courage, the giant blew a mighty gust, lifting her skyward just before she vanished. That night, warm “hug rains” fell, embracing the whole earth.
